Reflecting on 2024
As the year comes to a close, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to Women in Science Japan members, partners, and allies for your support in 2024.
Here are just a few of our highlights:
- Doubling our membership: We grew from 63 to 128 members and significantly increased engagement. At the start of the year, only 19% of members were active weekly; now, 35% connect with us at least once a week.
- Hosting impactful events: We held two major public events, including a panel on STEM Entrepreneurship in Japan for International Women’s Day and our second annual flagship event in October.
- Fostering learning and connection: Our members-only book club completed three books this year, sparking lively discussions and insights.
- Launching STEM Stories: This new program provides an online space for members to share their career journeys, inspiring others in our community.
We have several great initiatives launching in 2025, including our members-only Mentorship Program and our inaugural Machine Learning Summer School for Scientists.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together and are excited about the journey ahead. Thank you for supporting our mission to help women scientists in Japan reach their full potential. Let’s make 2025 even more impactful! 🌸 🚀
